2024: In retrospective
Jan 10, 2025

Let’s talk about 2024, an interesting year for sure.

2024

After New Year, I like to reflect on what happened the year before; I take it seriously as a self-retrospective, a way to make sure I call out what I achieved and to determine why I didn’t accomplish what I wanted to do.

2024 is no exception.

Professionally, the highlight is that I got my hands dirty again, a healthy combination of technical and managerial work; I completed and led dozens of projects that impacted the company I work for and positively affected my team’s culture and the group I belong to. Not to toot my own horn, but I did an excellent job for a rookie year.

Personally, I visited my family, spent some quality time with them, made some memories, and let some steam off.

However, I will be deceiving myself if I don’t mention what I said I would accomplish last year, and I failed to do so.

The one, is my personal projects, and by that, I mean this blog and my YouTube channel; these are the two mediums I like to use to express my technical thoughts artistically, via the animations and pictures I use to describe what I’m discussing, and literally, with actual code that demonstrates what I’m covering, with the end goal to help folks improve their technical journey.

I already have topics to cover in 2025 that are interesting to me and will be interesting to other folks.

In 2026, I will write a self-retrospective that covers how much I grew my channel, this blog, my social media footprint, the new technical knowledge I learned, and all the new things I built.

I will go back to the grinding days of 2020.

Looking forward to 2025! 🥳 🎊 🎆
