2023: In retrospective
Feb 05, 2024

2023 was surprisingly and unexpectedly tough.

2023, personally

Last year, we traveled a lot; my mother-in-law visited us, so we did an American history-like tour, visited Boston, Washington, and Philadelphia, and went to the Statue of Liberty for fun. In December, we went to Mexico to spend time with my family; that trip was bittersweet. My mom passed away a few weeks before the trip, but at least we as a family spent time together, and I was able to show my wife and daughter around.

For the first time in years, we didn’t attend New York Comic Con; it looks like we have outgrown it. This year may be different.

2023, professionally

I left my previous job in October. I enjoyed my time there; my colleagues were amazing people, and I learned a lot about the industry; sadly, in the end, it was different from what I was expecting when I joined. I took a short recalibration break before joining a new challenge and industry.

It has been a few excellent months of learning about new things.

2024, plans

2023 was a bit of a blur; time flew by quickly, and I definitely neglected some of my personal projects. My goal this year is to change that; I know there are many new things to learn, and I expect my new role to help me explore and discover new ways to do exciting things.

2024 is going to be a challenging year. I’m looking forward to it.
